Litchfield National Park and Kakadu National Park
Darwin’s tropical parks and waterfalls in Litchfield National Park are spectacular during the warm monsoon season. Florence Falls moves over a monsoon forest to tumble down to a deep pool below. Hike and swim along Wangi Falls and take in the abundant wildlife. In Kakadu National Park, enjoy the native birds and animals by foot or helicopter, and take in the aerial view of impressive Katherine Gorge with its 13 connected gorges.
Swan Valley river cruise
When its time to take a break from hiking, consider a luxury cruise up the lovely Swan River near Perth. Enjoy a wide variety of fine wines and great dining. This area also hosts wildlife sanctuaries and nature parks and can be explored by foot, cycle or horse. Take a visit to historic Guildford at the gateway to the Swan Valley and enjoy its heritage and browse through fine antique stores.
Sydney and its beaches
A trip to Australia is not complete without some time on its lovely beaches. Sydney has marvelous stretches of sunny coastline. The walking trail from Bondi to Bronte includes the three beaches of Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte and goes along massive sandstone cliffs. Swimming, snorkeling and surfing are all great ways to enjoy the active beach life.
