The Corona Lockdown has deprived many of us of our weekend adventures in nature, evening hikes and morning runs. But mostly, it has forced us to keep our distance to people we hold dear. SOURCE-friend and bike-packer Markus Stitz has used his time in lockdown to reflect on the concept of social distancing. The result is his inspiring film “Distance”. We are proud to find our SOURCE Hipster Hydration Belt in this beautiful meditation about the meaning the of outdoors in times of social distancing and Corona.
Markus Stitz is a bike-packer and filmmaker, who seeks the adventure on wheels all around the world. On his rides and races, he relies on the award-winning SOURCE Hipster Hydration Belt – even to carry his drone (watch here how he fits his camera-drone into the Hipster). The lightweight and compact Hipster stores his biking essentials and camera equipment and is a real alternative to bulkier backpacks.
The footage for his film “Distance” was filmed during a solo bike-packing trip in 2019 around Argyll in Scotland. When lockdown kicked in, Markus realized that his ability to be alone, which he had acquired through his many solo trips, helped him a great deal to cope with the new situation. In an attempt to inspire people around the world and to “give the term “distancing” a more positive flavor”, he created the film “Distance”. “I really think there is a need for physical distancing in the pandemic, but right now, a social connection is more important than ever.”
We are proud to be a small part of this inspiring story with our SOURCE Hipster. Hopefully, we soon will be able to enjoy nature unrestricted; in the meantime we appreciate the wild beauty of Scotland captured perfectly in “Distance”.
